Situation: 

La Comisión Nacional Foresta (CONAFOR) es una institución con multitud de Coordinaciones, Gerencias, Subgerencias y Departamentos. Esta situación burocrática provoca que, muchas veces, la información geográfica ligada a programas de apoyos económicos y de otro tipo sufra varios problemas:

  • Dispersión de la información.
  • Dificultad para compartir la información entre gerencias.
  • Problemas para actualizar la información.
  • Falta de homogeneidad de la información territorial.
  • Imposibilidad de acceder a la información de forma rápida, sencilla, remota y fiable.

  1. La mayor parte de las Empresas de productos de consumo masivo tienen la necesidad de contar con rutas de distribución, que cumplan con las características de rentabilidad en sus operaciones.
  2. Han estado incorporando aplicaciones de optimización, basadas en sistemas de información geográfica, las cuales debido a la cantidad limitado de variables y a la falta de flexibilidad en su configuración no satisfacen sus requerimientos.

gvSIG applied to the management of the agricultural lands of the Lipetsk Region

To take decisions in the management of territory, the governor of the Lipetsk Region and the Heads of the municipal districts need an information about current state of the agricultural lands and its use. As a rule, that information is existing in the form of the paper maps and schemes, it's awkward in the daily work and doesn't reflect the real situation.

Для решения задач управления руководителям и специалистам органов исполнительной власти областного уровня и органов местного самоуправления муниципальных районов Липецкой области необходима информация о текущем состоянии земель сельскохозяйственного назначения и их использовании. Ранее такая информация была представлена в виде бумажных карт и схем, не отражала реального состояния и была труднодоступной.

Using gvSIG to compute light pollution from night satellite images

Situation: 

The night pictures taken from the International Space Station (ISS) and other NASA missions as DMSP can be used to compute light emission from ground based locations. We need a complete GIS toolkit to study correlations among the satellite images and light sources. So we can get information about individual buildings or geographical areas.
We need also a tool which can use standard OGC services to access Geographic information and Layers from other SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructure), as IDEE. The connection to spatial databases, as PostGIS, would be the last requirement.
